THE ENVIRONMENT The environment is a balanced set of elements that encompasses nature, life, artificial elements, society and culture that exist in a given space and time. The environment is made up of various components such as physical, chemical and biological, as well as social and cultural. These components, tangible and intangible, are related to each other and establish the characteristics and development of the life of a place. Examples of these factors are animals, plants, humans, soil, air, water, climate, geology, cultural expressions, social and economic relations, employment, urban planning, armed confrontations,among others.
